Goodnight York

What’s with the weather here? It’s in the 80’s, warmest September in almost 125 years. So with this warm weather you might as well stay out at night. Walking around York last time it seems other people had the same idea. people were dining outside, listening to live music in front of the Minster, and just milling around. It was gorgeous.

With taking photos at night new challenges arise. You have to use a tripod. A remote release helps too. Long exposures reveal movements with people and cars, but I like it. Tonight is my last night in York and it has been a wonderful place to use as a base. When the good weather hit we gave up the idea of spending hours in museums and decided to spend more time outside including walking the city wall, walking the River Ouse, walking around the city itself and taking in the outdoor markets. It’s the perfect place to enjoy city, water and sites within an easy bus ride. I’m going to miss this place.
